http://www.nesworld.com/mirror/nr.php - list of magazine mentions (for this game and many others).

http://www.nesworld.com/mirror/nrhtml/magicc.htm - three screens - the two already put on this page, and one explicitly from the original computer title. What's curious is that the second picture is also from a computer game - specifically the sequel, which was only released for DOS. Picture 3 seems to be the only one featuring the NES version (a Dragon Quest clone which is largely a nonsequitur to the original MC), which was developed and released in Japan (screenshots at Mobygames, English translation patch at RHDN). Rather then a phantom port, this seems to indicate an intended localization, and that bit of dialog may have just been a proof of concept edit or even a mock-up. I need to revisit this page, the magazine mentions and any Japanese sources in an attempt to arrange/theorize a timeline of how this licensing oddity did and didn't happen.
