Sonic's Edusoft is an unlicensed edutainment game in the Sonic the Hedgehog series, which was planned for release on the Sega Master System. In March 2007, the game's programmer replied to an SMS Power thread discussing the game,[1] and revealed more information about the game. On April 27, 2008, the ROM was leaked to the public, though it only works on some emulators. Eventually, GerbilSoft created a hacked version that runs on most emulators.

There are over 15 levels in the game, all of which involve problem-solving. For each problem solved, your character moves forward slightly, eventually clearing the stage. Your opponent varies depending on the speed selected in the options menu (for example, the lowest setting has you race a Moto Bug, while the highest setting has you race a rabbit). The problems the player has to solve range from word puzzles where the player has to spell out a word using the available letters, to math problems, such as addition, subtraction, multipliction, and division.

There are also three minigames, all of which have a time limit and score counter:

  • Balloon, where the player has to roll across the ground to pop a balloon as it floats by, though it's glitchy, and balloons sometimes pop for no reason.
  • Trampoline, where the player has to control a trampoline in an effort to move Sonic to the other side of the screen.
  • Green Hill Zone, where the player has to run across the screen and jump over obstacles littered across the ground.
