Planned Release Date USA 1989?

A Nightmare on Elm Street is a NES game based on the horror franchise of the same name, a prototype of a game released by LJN in 1989 and 1990. The gameplay is very different from what was released later, and the player becomes a villainous serial killer, Freddy Krueger, with the goal of killing teenagers who are searching for bones. Freddy can move freely in the dream through pipes, electrical outlets and mirrors. The reason for the change may be that Nintendo or LJN ordered Rare to redevelop it as a safe concept to avoid controversy when developing home video games with Nintendo licenses[1].
